Bull Flag

Concept

Bull Flags appear in trending markets. A break above the flag channel suggests trend continuation.

Trading Plan

  • Clear prior impulse up (flagpole).
  • Consolidation channel slopes slightly down or moves sideways.
  • Multiple respectful touches of channel boundaries.

Confirmation

  • Break and close above the flag channel.
  • Volume expansion on breakout.

Invalidation

  • Breakdown below lower flag boundary with acceptance.
  • Deep retrace that invalidates the prior impulse structure.

Targets

  • Conservative target: prior swing high.
  • Measured move: add flagpole height to breakout point.

Measured move: Target ≈ Breakout + (Flagpole height)

Risk

Below the flag’s lower boundary or below breakout retest low.
